Oskar Nordbø combines elements of folk, indie and country to craft his very own, unique sound of pop music. Drawn towards organic and honest productions, Oskar draws inspiration from masterminds such as Bon Iver, Tallest Man on Earth and Phoebe Bridgers in the way he combines an honest soundscape with catchy melodies and well-crafted lyrics, all wrapped in beautiful melancholy.
After a year of liveshows at Sofar Sounds, Musikkfest Oslo and Hi-Fi Klubben and two single-releases, Oskar already gained attention from tastemakers such as Gaffa, Indie Vibes, Ears to The Ground and Nordik Simit, the anticipation for this upcoming EP is huge.
Now he is finally ready to release his debut EP “Prelude”. Roaming around the theme of creating an identity the EP is a thematic and sonic prelude to his upcoming album “The Flood”. “Prelude” includes six songs. Half of them, the already released singles produced by Lars C. Olsen and Benjamin Giørtz. In addition to these the EP includes three all new songs produced by Oskar himself, making this his producer-debut. Built around rusty guitars and vocals, the EP has a sincere and atmospheric expression that can remind of a Nordic answer to Sufjan Stevens. “Prelude” is out now!
